Denise Vanderlugt

Denise specializes in hand stitched pictorial quilts.
Working with a variety of applique techniques, Denise
has created a method of working called
"FABRIQUE - constructed images in fabric".

Denise lives and works in the beautiful Whitsundays
in Queensland. Her unique quilts are inspired by her natural
surroundings of reef, rainforest, wetlands and open
spaces. Even her garden has been planted with
Aristolochia tagala to attract the giant Birdwing butterflies
that frequently feature in her quilt images.

Denise has enjoyed commissions by Corporations and
the private sector and her quilts hang on walls around the world
